Loft Conversion
A structural design was developed to convert an existing loft space into a habitable floor. The original structure was not designed to support residential loading, with undersized joists and internal timber supports restricting usable space.
The proposed solution included new steel beams, timber floor joists, and targeted roof modifications to ensure adequate load paths and structural stability. Internal supports were removed to create a clear, functional layout, with careful consideration given to construction sequencing to maintain roof integrity throughout the works.
